GETTING TO US
YOTEL Edinburgh is centrally located at 68-73 Queen Street, Edinburgh EH2 4NA: a 5-minute walk to Princes Street and a 15-minute walk to Waverley Station.
Edinburgh is Scotland’s busiest airport, with direct flights to national and international destinations. It is 8 miles from the city centre, which is quickly and easily reached by a variety of means: The Airlink 100 bus runs 24 hours a day at roughly 10-minute intervals. Journey time is approximately 30 minutes: alight at the stop for West End. The Tram also runs directly from the airport to Princes Street (two blocks south of YOTEL Edinburgh on Queen Street) between 7am and 11.30pm. Taxis take about 20 minutes, and cost about £20. There is a taxi rank at the airport or you can use popular apps to book.
Tram fares between the Airport and City centre are:
Adult single £6.00 / Child single £3.00 / Adult return £8.50 / Child return £4.50
Tickets can be purchased from ticket vending machines at the airport tram station. Most debit and credit cards are accepted (£3 minimum spend) and be aware when you use cash that no change is given.
The tram runs from 06:18 from the airport. Before 07:00 trams run every 10 mins. 07:00 to 19:00 trams run every 7 mins. After 19:00 trams run every 10 mins. The last tram from the airport to the city centre leaves at 22:48 and from the city centre to the airport at 23:30.
Waverley Station, named after a novel by Sir Walter Scott, is a 15-minute walk or 10-minute taxi ride away. Regular direct trains serve Glasgow and London, as well as many other cities in the UK.
There are many bus services in Edinburgh. All Lothian buses cost £1.70 or £4.00 for a day ticket which can be used as many times as you like. Be aware that buses take exact fares in cash only and no change is given.
If you are planning to drive to Edinburgh, note that parking is notoriously difficult. The nearest NCP car park is at Castle Terrace, EH1 2EW. YOTEL guests can park at a special rate of £12 for 24 hours. Please let Mission Control know if you are using the NCP car park and they will issue you with a discount voucher to present on leaving the car park. For more information please click here. There is limited on-street parking nearby, charged at £ 4.60 per hour, Monday to Saturday, 8.30am – 6.30pm. Parking is free of charge outside of these hours.
