Jason Brown, Chief Development Officer
Jason heads YOTEL’s global growth and development strategy. In this capacity, he leads the acquisitions and development teams responsible for sourcing, negotiating and closing joint venture agreements, acquisitions and management contracts for new YOTEL projects. He also manages the design and construction teams responsible for working with YOTEL’s owners and development partners to deliver and evolve the concept as the brand expands.
Jason joined from Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, where he served in multiple roles including Director of Acquisitions & Development and, previously, Director of Corporate & Real Estate Finance. During his five years at Kimpton, Jason managed numerous transactions representing over $600 million of acquisitions, financings, debt restructurings and dispositions and was involved in the fund raising, investment and asset management of Kimpton’s discretionary private equity real estate funds, the KHP fund series (now KHP Capital Partners), as well as helping to drive corporate finance and brand strategy. Prior to Kimpton, Jason was part of the founding team at the start-up luxury destination club, One Key, and began his professional career as a consultant with Ernst & Young in their Transaction Real Estate & Hospitality group where he consulted on more than $4 billion of hotel development projects, single asset and portfolio acquisitions and entity level M&A transactions. Jason is also passionate about entrepreneurship and has served as an advisory board member to institutionally backed hospitality technology start-ups. He received his bachelor’s degree in Hotel Administration from Cornell University where he majored in real estate finance and development.
