The first YOTEL in the Iberian Peninsula not only brings great design and technology, but a low touch experience making it one of the safest and most innovative stays in the city.

Following a period in which most people have spent in some form of lockdown and travel was only something to dream about, YOTEL Porto is gearing up to open their doors to guests on 28 May. YOTEL, known for challenging the status quo, has used this period to fast track technology and implementing safety standards to ensure a seamless and safe stay. Located on Rua de Gonçalo Cristóvão, in the heart of the city, the hotel is the perfect location to make your base whilst enjoying everything Porto has on offer.

Directly designed to meet the needs of contemporary travellers, YOTEL Porto takes the essential elements of luxury hotels into smaller smart spaces, giving guests everything they need and nothing they don’t. Inspired by first class airline travel, the hotel boasts 150 perfectly designed cabins (YOTEL speak for rooms) and features YOTEL’s signature fully adjustable space saving SmartBed™, multiple sockets and USB charging points, superfast WiFi and SMART HD TVs with Chromecast technology. Each cabin has a rejuvenating rain shower with Urban Skincare amenities to enjoy.

In the spirit of creating a seamless low touch stay, guests can download the YOTEL Porto mobile app which will allow them to check in even before arriving at the hotel and use the app as their SmartKey on any mobile device, not only saving time, but keeping the arrival and check in process as safe as possible. The app can also be used to alert the crew if additional cleaning is required and can act as the TV remote control as well as lighting control for the cabin.

In addition to the YOTEL Porto app, guests can also use automated check in stations which adhere to YOTEL’s #SmartStay programme, a package of measures, resources and training that has been rolled out at every one of their hotels worldwide to help keep guests safe.

Hotel facilities include a 24/7 fully equipped gym, on-site parking, meeting rooms, co-working spaces and Komyuniti, the hotel bar and restaurant with outdoor deck. Guests can choose to have meals at the restaurant, room service or pick-up service. The hotel also offers fully adaptable event spaces with great views of the city.

For those who just fancy a quick snack on the go, the hotel also has a Grab+Go area with light meals and drinks. Helping the YOTEL crew on the ground is their two delivery robots Yolinda and Yogiro, which helps the crew deliver snacks and amenities to cabins when requested.

Nuno Godinho, Hotel Manager at YOTEL Porto, commented, “The opening of the first YOTEL in the Iberian Peninsula following such a challenging time for hospitality is testament to the brands dedication and United Investments Portugal’s continuous support and investment in the tourism industry as a whole. I am confident that this hotel with its innovative vision and tech infrastructure, will be a great success here in Porto. The way we do things have always been different and YOTEL Porto will offer a safe, seamless and fun experience for all visitors to the city of Porto”.

YOTEL Porto is owned by United Investments Portugal, representing an investment of 30 million euros in the city of Porto.
