FAQs
Can I bring my pet with me?
YOTEL has a no pet policy. Guide and service dogs are of course allowed, you must let us know if you intend to bring your dog with you in advance of your arrival.

What if I have allergies?
We've taken some measures to try to make your stay at YOTEL as safe as possible. Naturalmat supply our mattresses which are organic and made of natural fibre, with hypoallergenic/anti-microbial fill made of coir, lambswool and latex. All our pillows and duvets are made of hypoallergenic fibre. All cleaning products are environmentally safe and non-toxic. Carpets are cleaned using a ‘true – stem’ extraction cleaning machine that sanitises and kills all kinds of bacteria and germs. The paint used throughout the hotel is ‘Low VOC’, which improves the overall air quality for guests and staff. We are proud to be LEED Certified.

We accept packages on your behalf only by prior arrangement and agreement. All items should be addressed to the registered guest and where possible state the date of check-in.

Do you allow smoking at the hotels?
We have a strict non-smoking policy, and do not accept smoking anywhere on property. This includes in all of our rooms and public spaces. There is at least a £200/€200 fee that will be charged to anyone who violates our non-smoking policy.

How fast is the free WiFi?
Our super-fast WiFI is available anywhere on the property. Just connect your device and a prompt will pop up. We aim to provide a 10/5 service which means 10 mbps download and 5 mbps upload (mbps is megabits per second). We have no limit on the number of devices you can connect. For people who like techy details, we use Access Points that support “802.11ac” and is fully compatible with older devices.

For PCs and print facilities please ask reception. The gym is open 24/7. This is fitted with state of the art fitness equipment.

Yes, we offer a laundry service. Laundry bags and lists are available with pricing in your room. Ask reception for more information
Do rooms have rollaways or cots?
We do not have rollaway beds, but we do have rooms with sofabeds for extra guests. Cots are available at no extra cost, just let us know on check-in if you need one.
How do I amend a booking made through a third party website?
You will need to contact the company you booked with to make any changes.

We provide super-fast WiFi at our hotels. Its use is considered as the guest agreement with the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP). YOTEL may change this Policy to reflect any variation in the law or whenever deemed necessary. The YOTEL WiFi may be used for lawful purposes only and in compliance with all current and future statutes in force. Checking in and checking out
At YOTEL, we like you to be able to make the most of your time. We’ve replaced the traditional front desk with self-service stations for a seamless stay, cutting out all the queuing. You can access the stations 24/7 and the reception crew is available round the clock should you need any help. Our standard check-in time is any time after 3pm and check-out is any time before 11am. We’ll be happy to look after your luggage if you want to go out and explore.
What are your cancellation policies?
Cancellation options vary depending on the rate which has been booked:

Is there early check-in?
Standard check-in time is 3pm. Too late? Early check-in is available but is subject to availability upon arrival. When you arrive at the hotel, if there is availability, early check-in between 1 – 3pm is free. Any early check-in before 1pm will be subjected to a flat fee of £20 / €20. To book and/or pay for early check-in please speak with our reception team.
How do I cancel a booking?
To amend or cancel a direct booking (made via YOTEL.com or through our Customer Service Representatives), please visit your My Account page or contact the hotel directly.

You will need your booking reference number and the email address used to make the booking.
Is there late check-out?
Standard check-out time is 11am. Too early? Late check-out may be available until 1pm for a fee of £20. Please enquire with our reception crew on arrival (subject to availability).
Will a tourist tax be added to my booking?
The Edinburgh Visitor Levy will apply to bookings made from 1 October 2025 for stays from 23 July 2026. Please contact the hotel directly for more information at [email protected].

Does YOTEL Edinburgh have parking?
On arrival, it is possible to park your car for a few minutes in the loading bays on Queen Street, located a few yards from the front of the hotel. There are various options for parking thereafter:
The nearest NCP car park is at Castle Terrace, EH1 2EW. Subject to availability, 50% discount vouchers for this NCP car park are available at reception.
